As you can see in the slideshow below we have all of our base tracks in place and we are currently editing our music video. The reason we started editing this week was because, we couldn't do anything if we didn't have all of our footage. Last week friday, we took out the equipment and went to shoot at Caledonian Road and then we did some shots at King's Cross, because last time we went our memory card ran out of space and we couldn't film. On Friday, we finished everything and we were really glad that we can finally edit our music video.

We're working really hard with editing, and we will definitely be coming to a lot of workshops because, we want to have a rough cut done and checked by the deadline.

As you can see we have a lot of base tracks, and we like that because we made sure to film around 5-8 base tracks in each location so we have a range of shots when it comes to editing the music video.

I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do with the poster for the artist Kayla'O (Myself), but I wasn't really sure how to approach the matter. Instead, I looked at Lily Allen's promotional posters and took some inspiration. Here are some of the posters which I looked at:

What I really liked about those posters is that they were quite simple and had quirky fonts, and I really wanted to do something similar. As you can see my poster is quite different, more darker in a sense because I wanted the poster to reflect the mood of the first music video which is Bass Like Home. We used a lot of white, blue, black & red colours as a theme throughout our album and music video to represent the British flag. 

In our poster we have the signature Kayla'O makeup look, which is the red lips and winged eyeliner.

Filming Review

          FILMING REVIEW

Today we went out filming some footage which we missed out on before,at the beggining things were going well however we faced some difficulties.

One of the difficulties we found were that we needed a white wall as the background for our music video and it was hard to find one in the area, after a bit of looking around we found a white wall however it was part of private property therefore we deicded to knock on the door and ask the owners permission.

The second problem we faced was we forgot to bring the artists change of clothing for a different location which meant the artist had to go home and get changed before we could move onto our next location,this wasted alot of time which we could have spelt filming.

Putting the problems we faced to a side, the day was very successful and we managed to get a lot of footage.

PLANNING - DIGIPAK

For my digipak I have created an album front and back cover as well as a magazine cover.

Album front cover:
I decided to use this image as it is an extreme close up therefore this allows the audience to focus on the artists face,focusing on the artists face will enable them to notice the red lipstick as this is our main prop and our synergy therefore they will see it throughout the digipak.The artists signature is added to show she is a celebrity.

Magazine cover:

For my Magazine cover I used a medium shot in order to show the artist clearly as well as focusing on the artists make up.The make up is used to attract the male gaze,I decided to add a bar code to make it different from the album cover and show that it's a magazine cover.

Teacher Feedback On Blogging #1

As you can see above, there are some incomplete blog tasks & tasks that are posted at a bunch. 

Overall I received good feedback but of course there is always room for improvements which I am willing to do to insure I get the highest grade possible. In order for me to go into band 4, I need to do the incomplete tasks which I'm currently doing and improve my time management by posting more regularly instead at a bunch which is shown in the above picture. Also need to use more creative uses of technologies such as vlog which I have started doing in previous posts like filming reviews.
